From Sketchbooks to Spreadsheets: How Fashion Led Me to Finance

Ever since I was a little girl, I was captivated by the world of fashion. I spent hours sketching dresses in the margins of my notebooks, flipping through glossy magazines, and pretending my room was a Paris runway. I dreamt of becoming a fashion designer, someone who could turn imagination into fabric and bring stories to life through style. Fashion felt like freedom—it was colorful, expressive, and endlessly creative.
As I got older, I began to discover a different kind of passion—one rooted in logic, problem-solving, and strategy. Numbers started to fascinate me. I loved the way they told stories in their own quiet, powerful way. While fashion appealed to my creativity, finance awakened my curiosity about how the world works—how companies grow, how decisions are made, and how value is created behind the scenes. Choosing finance didn’t mean giving up on my love for fashion; it meant approaching it from a new angle.
Today, my goal is to merge both worlds. I want to pursue a career in finance within the fashion industry—whether it’s helping brands make smarter financial decisions, guiding product investments, or forecasting growth strategies for iconic labels. The fashion world needs strong business minds just as much as it needs talented designers, and I’m excited to bring both my analytical skills and creative background to the table.
At the end of the day, it’s not about choosing one passion over another—it’s about creating a career that honors both. I may not be designing collections, but I’m still working toward a future where my love for fashion and finance can coexist beautifully.
